convenient onsens proximity, lovely outdoor rotemburo bath, key access to multiple onsens
A private onsen would improve family experiences!!! Moving to the ryokan requires a long uphill walk, which can be tough with heavy luggage!!! More natural light in the room would enhance the atmosphere!!!

The Japanese-style room I stayed in was super spacious and cozy. The futon was really comfortable, which made for a great night's sleep. The vibe was warm and inviting, especially with the heating since it was freezing outside. Plus, they made up our beds while we were at dinner, which felt nice and thoughtful. Overall, it was a great room for the stay!

This place completely wowed me! The rooftop onsen was a breathtaking experience, especially with snow falling around us. Dinner was a culinary delight—definitely better than what I expected. The only downside was that I had to make my own way back from the monkey park, but it wasn't a big deal. I can't wait to return!

Both dinner and breakfast exceeded expectations, with the beef steak upgrade being particularly memorable. The rooms were well-maintained and cozy, featuring tatami beds and traditional decor, creating a warm atmosphere during the cold nights. The staff was prompt and attentive throughout our stay.
The uphill walk to the ryokan can be challenging with heavy luggage.

Exploring the area was a blast, especially with access to multiple onsens nearby, perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. The kids loved wearing their yukatas while we savored our delicious kaiseki dinner, and the morning views of the snowy scenery were just breathtaking.
In my wife’s opinion, it would be great if they offered more amenities specifically for kids.
